Black Youth Farming Collective

About Us
The Black Youth Farming Collective (BYFC) is a partnership between the Asase Institute, Ent’yce Mentorship & Community Services, and UpRooted: Black Earth Stewards (the now incorporated youth-led partner of the BYFC, consisting of members from the youth steering committee). The BYFC was formed by Black youth and community leaders concerned about the lack of safe spaces in which black youth could find support in community, nature, and African diasporic food and agricultural practices.
Since 2021, the BYFC has offered a range of virtual and in-person programs aimed at engaging Black youth in local Black food sovereignty work while providing skills training in leadership, employability, and holistic wellness.
